Selfish – Selfie Camera
Introduction
Bengigi Studio ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application Selfish, a selfie camera app that supports face-detection auto-capture, self-timer shooting, voice-command capture, and on-device photo enhancement.
Information We Collect
- Camera and Photos: Selfish accesses your camera so you can capture selfies, and the photos you select from your device gallery so you can review or edit them. Photos are processed on your device. We do not upload your photos or captured images to our servers.
- Microphone (Voice Command Mode): If you enable Voice Command capture, Selfish uses your device's speech recognition to listen for the trigger keyword you choose. The recognizer runs through Android's on-device speech service when available. We do not record, retain, or transmit your voice to Bengigi servers. Voice mode is off until you turn it on.
- Face Detection Data: Selfish uses on-device face detection to know when faces are framed for auto-capture and to apply face-aware effects. Face landmark data is computed locally and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, language, and basic diagnostic data for crash reporting and compatibility.
- Usage Data: Anonymized session events and feature interactions to help us improve the app.
- Advertising Data: The free version of Selfish shows ads. Advertising partners may collect advertising identifiers, ad interactions, and limited device signals to deliver, measure, and prevent fraud in ads. See their respective privacy policies for details.
- Purchase Data: If you purchase the Pro upgrade, the app store provides a purchase token and entitlement status used to remove ads and unlock paid effects. We do not receive your payment card details.
How We Use Your Information
- To capture, preview, review, and save selfies and edited photos on your device
- To detect faces for auto-capture, framing cues, and face-aware effects
- To listen for your chosen voice keyword when Voice Command mode is enabled
- To save photos you choose to keep to your device gallery
- To improve performance, fix bugs, and analyze aggregate usage
- To display advertisements in the free version
- To verify and unlock Pro purchases
Photos and Voice Stay on Your Device
Capture, face detection, voice keyword recognition, and photo effects happen entirely on your device. Source photos, captured selfies, and edited results are never uploaded to Bengigi servers. Saved photos are written to your device's photo library and remain under your control.
Third-Party Services
The app may use third-party services that collect information. These include:
- Google Play Services
- Google AdMob (free version only)
- Google Play Billing (for the Pro upgrade)
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
- ML Kit on-device face detection
- Android speech recognition (used only when Voice Command mode is enabled)
Children's Privacy
Selfish is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Your Choices
You can revoke camera, microphone, and storage permissions at any time in your device settings. Voice Command mode can be turned off in the app at any time. You can limit ad personalization through your device's advertising ID settings. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data the app created on your device.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect any information processed by the app. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the date below.
